Overview

The AskIT Portal is where you go for everything IT-related. From finding answers in the knowledge base to ordering a new headset to getting help when you are unable to send email.

Begin with the Basics

Once you are on the AskIT site, you will see orange-colored main menu buttons on the top left of the homepage as shown below.

Here is a quick overview of each of the main menu buttons:

  • Login Help.
    • If you have Office 365 login issues, this enables you to still submit a ticket without logging in to your account. This puts your ticket into our general queue and will be addressed in priority order.
  • Open a Ticket.
    • This takes you to AskIT’s Service Catalog where you can search for the service that best matches your need. Tickets submitted using services from the catalog are automatically triaged to the appropriate team that will handle the work, allowing us to respond to and address your request faster. If you are unable to find the exact service, please submit a general support ticket from the category that most closely matches your need, instead.
      • Note - Most of our services are not viewable by the public. Sign in using your O365 email address and password to see all the available services.
  • View Your Tickets.
    • Find all your past and current ticket requests on one page. You can also find tickets where you have been added as a contact, which allows you to directly reply to these tickets and upload attachments, if needed.
  • Search for Answers.
    • Access our Knowledge Base articles, which include how-to's, system overviews, and directions if you have an issue that needs IT assistance.
      • Note Not all our knowledge base articles are viewable by the public. Sign in using your O365 email address and password to see all the articles available, or to submit a request
  • Workday Support.
    • This button is specifically for inquiries regarding Workday, if you are having trouble with completing a task, experiencing a technical issue, or needing assistance navigating the Workday system.
      • Note If you are unable to log in using your Office 365 to AskIT or Workday, please submit a Login Help request instead.

TIP

  • Check out the Portal FAQ for a quick overview of terminology and how to manage your requests
  • Not sure where to start? Use the search bar in the top right corner, it pulls up both knowledge articles and services associated with the search words used. Remember to sign in to see all results

Why do we require you to sign in?

By signing into your Langara account, this helps:

  • Protects you and the College from Cyber Security threats.
  • Simplifies your submission process by auto-filling some of the fields in the service form, such as your name and department.
