Excel features greyed out when editing file on shared drive

Overview

Some editing options might be greyed out when editing excel files that are on shared drives. Unsharing workbook in the Review tab will allow editing.

Solution

1. Open an excel file where editing options are greyed out.
2. Go to the Review tab that is located in the ribbon menu.
3. Click on the Unshare Workbook option.
