Access Windows 11 desktop remotely on your personal computer: MAC or PC

This article references the Microsoft Remote Desktop application installation method of accessing the Windows 11 pilot desktop.

Overview

The Windows 11 environment can be accessed on your own personal computer using the Windows App (formally known as  Microsoft Remote Desktop )application.

If you have issues with accessing the Windows 11 Pilot environment or challenges when you are working in it, please submit a Windows 11 Lab Support ticket.

Solution

For Windows

1. Download and Install Windows App from the Microsoft Store or click the following link: 

•  Windows App

2. Select Subscribe with URL

3. Enter following URL https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery

4. Click Next

5. Login with your email address (e.g. jdoe@langara.ca) and password. 

6. Double-click one of the icons to launch a session to Azure Virtual Desktop.

 

Installing For MacOS

1. Download  Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App store or the following website:  

• Install the Windows App  from the apple store 
  • https://apps.apple.com/us/app/windows-app/id1295203466?mt=12

2. In the Connection Center, select +, then select Add Workspace.

3. Enter following URL https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery

4. Click Add

5. Login with your email address (e.g. jdoe@langara.ca) and password. 

6. Double-click one of the icons to launch a session to Azure Virtual Desktop.
