DVD player not responding to lectern controls (older model lecterns)

Ensure lectern control buttons have been pressed in correct order to enable control of DVD player controls.

This order is:

  1. VIDEO
  2. VCR/DVD ON/OFF  TIP: This button label can vary. Examples include; DVD/VCR ON/OFF and VCR/DVD POWER.
  3. DVD
  4. The green light beside DVD under the DVD & VCR CONTROL area on the right side of the control panel will light up when this order is successfully completed.

If this order has been followed, the green DVD light on control panel is on and there is still no response from the controls, the IR repeater may have come detached.

  1.  Check to see if IR repeater is attached to DVD player.
  2.  If it is not, reattach the IR repeater if the glue is still present. If the glue has lost its effectiveness, the IR repeater will work if held against the DVD player.

NOTE: Please submit a ticket through https://langara.ca/information-technology/ask-it to inform IT about the need for the IR to be reattached by Audio Visual Services.

The IR repeater will look similar to this:

If the DVD is still not playing, contact the IT Service Desk for immediate assistance by calling local 5999 and choosing option #1.
