Windows 10 Surface Pro unable to output sound to classroom speakers

Overview

Surface Pros installed with Windows 10 as the operating system may experience issues playing sound when connecting to a classroom speaker from the lectern. Updating the Intel graphic driver will resolve this issue.

Solution (If appropriate)

If your Surface Pro has Windows 10 as the operating system and cannot play sound when connecting to the lectern in a classroom, please visit the IT service desk in the library or Remote Support and a technician will be able to help you upgrade your driver.

You can also dial 5999 if your class is in progress and you are experiencing this issue.

NOTE - Updating the driver can take 15 minutes - 20 minutes.

Symptoms

When a Surface Pro that has Windows 10 installed is connected to a lectern in the classroom, the Surface Pro may not be able to detect the room speaker as a sound device.
