FAQ for Windows 11 issues

Summary

Work-arounds for issues encountered in Windows 11 Labs and classrooms.

Body

Overview

All labs and enhanced classrooms were updated to Windows 11 starting in May 2024. Although this environment generally performs well, the IT department has received reports of some issues, which are outlined below. We are diligently working to resolve these issues to ensure that instructors and students have a proper learning environment. In the meantime, please see the available work-arounds for the most commonly reported issues below.

NOTE - These issues are only occurring in our mutliuser virtual environment, which is in our labs and on the lecterns. Laptops with Windows 11 do not have these issues.

For instructors encountering issues interrupting a class or exam please call 5999 and a tech will be dispatched to you.

Please submit a Windows 11 Lab Support ticket if you are encountering an issue that cannot be resolved via one of the work-arounds below.
