To connect your Android phone or tablet to the eduroam wireless network, follow the steps below.
TIP - If your phone has a data plan, you can skip directly to the section on connecting to eduroam.
If you do not have a data plan on your device, follow these steps first:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to Connections, then Wi-Fi
- In the lists of networks select Langara. You will then be prompted to sign in.
- Enter your Langara email address and password
- Tap the Login button
- You will now have Internet access to follow the next set of steps to connect to eduroam
NOTE - Connection to the Langara wireless network will only last for an hour before it disconnects. Follow the steps below to connect to eduroam to connect to the Internet for a longer-term when you are on campus.
Proceed to the steps below to complete the connection to eduroam.
- Open any Internet browser, such as Chrome
- In the address bar, type and go to https://cloud.securew2.com/public/94463/Groups/LangaraCollege/. Or click on the link if viewing this on your device
- Tap on the appropriate link based on the version of Android OS installed on your device
- Tap the Download button to bring up the Google Play Store App to install SecureW2 JoinNow app
- If you are not prompted for credentials, use the Chrome browser and click on JoinNow button.
- Tap Install to download the SecureW2 JoinNow App (Do not open the App)
- Return to the Internet browser and tap the JoinNow button
- Enter your Langara email address (Computer User ID + @langara.ca for employees; Computer User ID + @mylangara.ca for Students) and password
- Tap on the Continue button, then Next
- When prompted, click Save to save eduroam network to your phone
eduroam and eduroam5GHz will now be properly configured on your device. Your device will connect to the eduroam network automatically whenever you are in range of the wireless network when on campus.
