Properly logging out of your Windows 11 (virtual machine) is crucial to ensure your session ends securely and resources are freed up for other users. Follow these steps to log out correctly and avoid potential issues such as data loss or session timeouts.

Steps to Log Out

  1. Save Your Work

    • Before logging out, make sure to save all your work. Close any open applications to prevent data loss.
  2. Close Applications

    • Close all running applications to ensure they do not interfere with the logout process.
  3. Log Out from the Start Menu

    • Click on the Start Menu.
    • Select your User Icon.
    • Click on Sign out.
  4. Disconnect from Remote Desktop

    • If you are using Remote Desktop to access your AVD VM, close the Remote Desktop Connection window after logging out.
  5. Verify Logout

    • Ensure that you have been logged out by attempting to reconnect. You should be prompted to log in again.
