Enable first time student 2FA phone call authentication

Overview

For a faster, and more secure, experience Langara highly recommends using the Microsoft Authenticator app for 2FA authentication. 

Students can also choose to use phone call as an alternative to the phone app.

Follow instructions below to activate phone call 2FA verification

Solution

1. Open any major browser and go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ 
2. Sign in to Office 365 with your Langara student email
3. After you choose Sign in, you'll be prompted for more information. Click Next.
4. ​​​Select I want to set up a different method
5. Choose Phone from drop down list
6. Enter your phone number and choose Call me
7. ​​​​​Click Next 
8. This will result in a phone call containing a 6-digit code. Use this code to verify your device.
