Your user account is not eligible for activation

Overview

A Computer User ID (CUID) is the first half of a Langara email address for both students and employees. A CUID is connected to a password used to access college services such as a Langara email account, Brightspace, computers on campus, and more. When trying to activate a Computer User ID (CUID) and create a password, the message "Your user account is not eligible for activation" may appear.

Solution

If following the instructions in the knowledge articles titled "Activate your Computer User ID" (students or employees) and you receive the "Your user account is not eligible for activation" error message, please follow the instructions in article Forgot Computer User ID password instead.
Note: Both articles allow you to create a CUID password and contain similar steps, with the latter simply bypassing a potential error message.

Unable to activate a CUID and create a password.

Error Code

SSPR 5021 - Your user account is not eligible for activation

Cause

In some cases, an account has already been activated. A person (student or employee) is not able to activate their CUID more than once while that CUID is still active.
